Why do we love tips so much?

Are they really helpful?

Sometimes.

I used to like “101 ways to (fill in the blank)”.

These days 101 ways to do anything makes my head spin.

How do you feel about “hacks”?

I cringe when I see someone promoting the latest LinkedIn or Facebook ad hack.

Years ago, I tried some of those hacks and it never turned out well.

The worst hack I tried was from an AdSense guru who taught us how to build revenue-generating websites in the mid-2000s.

My AdSense account was banned by Google.

The Death Penalty.

I haven’t been able to get it restored after begging for forgiveness for years.

They won’t tell me exactly why I was banned, and I never earned any income from AdSense.

I tried setting up new Gmail accounts from different locations.

I even used my mother’s email address.

Eventually, Google figured out it was me and shut down the account.

Today, I can’t monetize my YouTube channel because I need an AdSense account.
