How to fix missing images on LinkedIn

I’m sure you’ve experienced the missing or random image problem on LinkedIn.

You write a great blog post and want to share it on LinkedIn.

When you create a post on LinkedIn and share the link to your website, the image from your website is missing.

Or a random image from your website appears.

One way to fix this is to manually add the image to your LinkedIn post by clicking on the photo icon as you create your post.

This way, you know which image will appear.

Today, I discovered a new tool from LinkedIn called Post Inspector.

I’m not sure why LinkedIn hides these nuggets from us.

Here’s how Post Inspector works.

Add the URL you want to share on LinkedIn and Post Inspector will show you what it will look like on LinkedIn.

If something is missing, they tell you how to fix it.

Post Inspector also refreshes the data LinkedIn has related to your page or your website.

This is handy because when I post links from my website, LinkedIn always seems to show a really old random image from my website.

I added a link to https://tedprodromou.com in Post Inspector and it cleared out the old image that was stuck in their cache.
