The other day, I told you not to waste your InMail on me.

To be honest, I think I’ve used less than a dozen InMails over the years.

I don’t need to use them because I focus on getting to know someone before committing to a LinkedIn relationship.

I wrote the article because a lot of people send me an InMail when they want to connect.

You don’t need to use InMail credits to invite people to connect on LinkedIn.

Send an invitation to connect and include a personal message.

Yesterday LinkedIn posted a new article that has me rethinking my avoidance of InMail.

I have a Premium LinkedIn account AND Sales Navigator, so I have two buckets full of unused InMails.

LinkedIn’s data says you can receive an 86% InMail acceptance rate by doing one simple task before sending it.

You can increase that acceptance rate to 87% by sprucing up your LinkedIn profile.
