Never be the smartest one in the room

I had the honor of being a guest in John Carlton’s Platinum Mastermind meeting last week.

I’ve participated in many high-end mastermind groups over the years.

Some great.

Some not so great.

I was a guest in John’s mastermind a few years ago and I shared my LinkedIn Made Easy presentation, so I know a lot of the members.

Getting out of my routine and spending three days with successful business owners and marketers reminded me of something.

You should never be the smartest one in the room.

It was really refreshing to spend three days with really smart people.

Ideas were flowing.

Out of the box thinking.

Different perspectives.

“Friendly” debates.

Being in this environment raises your game to a new level.

I’m in a few online mastermind groups where I keep my finger on the pulse of what’s happening.

At least I thought I was keeping up.

When you engage with people at the Platinum level, you get the real story.
